Visit Wauchope

The hinterland town of Wauchope on the banks of the Hasting River may be tiny, but it packs a punch when it comes to rural charm and a surprisingly cool ambience. Full of boutique shops, cafes, bakeries and collectables. Just 20min drive from Port Macquarie, 30 minutes from Gypsy Falls, it makes a great base for exploring the surrounding 40,000 hectares of National Parks and State Forests.

Beautiful Comboyne

Turn right out of Tipperary Road to lead your way to Comboyne. Once you break through from the heavily forested hill climb, the plateau opens up spectacularly with rolling, verdant farmland. Don't miss stopping into Larrikins Lock-up for a bit of history in the restored gaol. To complete the package, Comboyne is flanked by pristine Nature Reserves and waterfalls. Trust us when we tell you it’s worth the drive!

Port Macquarie

Take a sunrise swim followed by brekkie overlooking the ocean. Search out art for the home or produce for the pantry. Have the luxuriously long lunch. Meet the wine makers. Hire a BBQ Boat on the river for a relaxed arvo of fishing with friends. Linger over a cocktail and dine in one of the many restaurants.
